Built on grit. Printed on demand. Powered by sarcasm.

Blockrat is run by two people. One of us is Estonian. The other spent 20 years in the British Army — the Rifles, as a sniper, with extensive operational and combat experience. Between us, that's one person who understands military life from the inside, and one person who's spent years listening to him explain why civilians will never understand a Bergen packing list. That gap turned out to be funny. So we built a brand around it.

Why "Blockrat"

Anyone who's served has lived in the blocks — the accommodation, the routine, the particular flavour of institutional grim that comes with barrack life. Spend long enough in them and you become one: a Blockrat. It's not a rank and it's not an insult. It's just what you are once you've done the time.

Why this exists

We both like dark humour. Properly dark — the kind that gets you through a bad shift, not the kind that needs a trigger warning. At some point the obvious question came up: why isn't anyone putting this on a T-shirt properly? Not tactical-brand seriousness, not novelty-gift nonsense — just the dry, blunt, slightly savage humour that actually gets said in a mess room, a workshop, or a pub, by people who've seen enough to stop pretending everything's fine.

So we started making it. That was over two years ago, and we're still at it.

Who this is for

Veterans who left the uniform but not the mindset. Serving personnel who need something to wear that isn't a uniform. Gen X, who were raising themselves by nine and have the tolerance-for-nonsense levels to prove it. Tradesmen, shift workers, and anyone whose humour got sharpened by doing a hard job properly while everyone else assumed it was easy.

If you've ever muted a call to swear at it, you're probably in the right place.

How it's actually made

Everything is printed to order — nothing is mass-produced and left sitting in a warehouse hoping someone buys it. That means:

  • Nothing gets made until you actually order it — less waste, no dead stock
  • It takes a little longer than a same-day delivery promise, and we tell you that upfront rather than overselling it
  • Where the product allows, we use organic cotton and materials that meet proper EU standards — not because it's trendy, but because "cheap and disposable" was never the point

Blockrat is operated by Blockrat OÜ, based in Estonia, shipping across the EU and UK, with other destinations available at checkout.

What we're not

We're not a military surplus shop, and we're not selling you a flag. One of us actually served — which means we're not interested in playing dress-up with the aesthetic, only in getting the humour right. We're not here to relitigate anyone's politics. We're here for the joke that's funnier because of what you've lived through, not despite it.
